Sustainability

Our responsibility to future generations drives us to integrate sustainable solutions into everything we do. For us, conscious production means consistently ensuring high standards for the quality of our products while simultaneously guaranteeing that they are manufactured responsibly and in a resource-efficient manner.

Made in Europe

A sign of our commitment is our decision to produce our fashion in Bulgaria. Since 1996, we have produced almost exclusively in Europe, and in 2008, we opened a clothing production facility in Madan, Bulgaria. In 2022, a second production facility was added in Kardzhali. 400 employees work there in the newly built facilities under the most modern standards and safe conditions.

We only produce our fashion goods to order, thus avoiding potential overproduction.

Recycled Polyamide

By using recycled polyamide, we are committed to sustainable resource conservation. Old fabrics and materials are thus given new life.

Recycled Polyester

Recycled polyester comes from, for example, old PET bottles and plastic waste from the ocean. The recycled plastic fibers are then used to create sustainable and high-quality materials and textiles.

Genuine Down & Re:Down

We place great importance on ensuring that the down and feathers we use comply with sustainable and ethical guidelines. Our genuine down is Downpass certified. This means that they meet the European Convention for the Protection of Animals kept for Farming Purposes as a standard.

Re:Down-recycled down and feathers

Sportalm products with the Re:Down label are filled 100% with recycled down and feathers. By reusing down, we reduce the need for new raw materials and thus minimize the ecological footprint.

Long-term orientation

We place great importance on a trustful cooperation with our partners and suppliers. Long-term partnerships – especially with our regional partners – enable short transport routes, secure production chains, and, above all, a consistently high quality of our Sportalm fashion.

Collaboration with Eurojersey

For us, sustainability is not a fashion trend, but a necessity. That's why we increasingly work with partners who meet the standards for sustainable production and also set new qualitative benchmarks and standards. With Eurojersey, we have found an innovative and reliable partner for our Sportalm fashion.

Made in Italy

Founded in Italy in 1960, Eurojersey has made a name for itself with its innovative Sensitive® Fabrics product line. These fabrics combine exceptional technical properties with high performance and excellent quality. Through responsible use of resources, a sustainable production process, and recycling measures, the company actively contributes to closing the textile loop. This means our Sportalm fashion is not only functional and stylish, but also sustainably and, above all, future-oriented produced.

Textile Printing with Lisa Spa

For us, creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. It's a good thing we found a partner in Lisa Spa, whose sustainable philosophy matches ours. Since 1970, the Italian company has evolved from a small production facility into one of the leading companies in the textile industry. What's special about it: All manufacturing processes are characterized by an awareness of sustainable resource management, and work is carried out according to ethical guidelines. All fabrics are printed with designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also consist of sustainable fibers.

EcoVero

We are constantly working to make our production sustainable, which is why we rely on EcoVero fabrics, made from sustainably managed, certified wood sources (FSC or PEFC). These fibers reduce CO2 emissions and water consumption by up to 50% each and are also biodegradable. In this way, we actively contribute to more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient production.

Packaging & Logistics

We use uncoated cardboard boxes that are not only robust and functional but can also be reused and recycled. Each package is designed to protect its contents securely while minimizing environmental impact. We keep our transport routes as short and efficient as possible.
And because we are not only conscious but also enjoy being fashionable, we ship our Sportalm collections in our exclusive fabric bags with an embroidered Sportalm logo. Our customers love carrying them. And so do we.

Handling unsold goods

Our internal circular economy also enables unsold goods to be put back into circulation. This means that our goods, which are perfect in terms of quality, are available as 1st or 2nd choice in our outlets, thus giving these items a second life.

Maintenance and Repair Service

The long-term use of our Sportalm articles is very important to us. Correct care and repair are therefore a decisive factor. We therefore recommend our in-house tailoring service in Kitzbühel to our customers and thus guarantee a professional and high-quality repair of their favourite items.

Manual work

A unique masterpiece doesn't just appear out of nowhere. Traditional costume demands craftsmanship and handwork like no other discipline in clothing. A piece full of folk culture and local history, sewn to last and to become a part of new stories and experiences. It is the art of craftsmanship: from hand-smocked waffle pleats to elaborate drapes, tucks, and rollings, to unique embroidery, Sportalm has carried the craft of traditional costume from its origins to the present day. Out of love for the Kitzbühel traditional costume tradition and its associated values.
